About

My name is Travis Schanafelt and I’m a software engineer, traveler, builder and then some. This site is where I post up my adventures and projects.

The first big adventure of mine was a solo overland journey through North America, covering over 22,000 miles in ten weeks. Later trips found myself crossing the Baja Peninsula, getting lost in the Sierra Madre Mountains in Mexico and exploring a portion of the Andes Mountains in Colombia with local explorers. In 2014 I rode an old school 1982 Honda XL500R across the USA, from the West coast to the East coast. In 2015 I left on a backpacking trip around Asia and ended up living in Hong Kong. Since then I’ve taken a few smaller adventures around Asia. Though did a larger trip driving across New Zealand in 2017 and hiked along Everest Base Camp Trek in 2019.
